Anna Carlson comes to Santa Fe with a deep passion in holding a unique space for clients to experience more of themselves. In clinical and spa settings alike, her work includes an intentional balance of therapeutic and heartfelt techniques.
She began her journey in the healing arts studying Psychology, and received her Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University in 1993. In her undergraduate work she held various research and clinical positions that helped her identify the need to be human and present with others. In this process it became clear that expanding her studies into bodywork at the Brian Utting School of Massage in Seattle, WA, she would more effectively integrate a balanced approach to wellness. After graduating in 1996, she has been dedicated to an ongoing commitment to refining her skills as a therapist. In addition to her modalities previously mentioned, Anna holds advanced certifications in Prenatal and Postpartum Massage, Intraoral Massage, Myofascial Release, Orthopedic Assessment and Treatment, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and Oncology Massage. In exploring the frontier of integrative medicine, Anna is particularly excited to be pursuing additional Oncology and indigenous healing massage trainings to assist clients in their healing journey. The emphasis in her sessions is always on supporting greater ease in a client’s body, and an enhanced sense of balance and well being.
Anna applies this same philosophy in her personal life. To this end, she is an active outdoor enthusiast, lover of world travel, and a dedicated wife and mother of twin daughters. She looks forward to rowing alongside the talented staff at High Desert and sharing with clients an optimal vision of wellness.
